My heart melts every time I have the opportunity to watch the Children’s Service Guild in action. My biggest memories are from the parties they host for the kids at Child Haven – Valentines, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. These parties bring so much joy and excitement from the little ones and teens. These kids gravitate to the Guild members, and I’ve heard them tell other kids and staff the Guild member is my aunt, or grandma. These kids can feel the love that fills the room as they walk in to see that this amazing party was just for them, and this makes them feel so special. They ask the Guild members to help them decorate cupcakes, gingerbread houses, and cookies. The unconditional love and dedication the Guild provides to everyone they come in contact with is inspirational. The impact they have with kids firsthand and behind the scenes in priceless. Because of them the world is a better place. Happy 50th Birthday!!!
