To understand the true depth of my appreciation, you must firstly learn of my origins. See, I was never in a rich or even financially stable household growing up. Even a dollar could've helped to feed me and my siblings. Essentially, I understand, and have lived in the worst of scenarios, this also means that I would grow up to cherish the good moments in life for however long they would last. I’m leaving my past behind though, not forgetting, never forgetting, but moving onward to a future I can make for myself. One where nobody else can drag me down again, one I can call my own. College, which leads to my future career, which leads to future income and financial stability. This scholarship is the first step to accomplishing that, making that dream a reality.
